Went and installed a cold air intake today and the intake only had one hose connection from the valve cover to the intake. So i used a vacuum cap onto the hose connecting to the intake manifold. See pics for reference. Is it okay to drive like this?
yes you can drive like that. I think that’s the AC idle control valve, so when you turn on ac the idle will not go up like it should.
that is called the dashpot… pretty much a useless item it’s only function is like ^^^ said to stabilize RPM. several folks even mention just removing it altogether Alternatively you can get a T fitting and run the vaccum lines to just the one hole.
