I have a 92 GSR with 132k on it with i/h/e. My problem is its not really a crazy problem but when my car is cold, like when it sits over night it take about 3secs to start, about 3 to 4 turn overs of the starter then it fires. When its warm it fires right up, not even a turn of the starter. Its really irratateing me because i have own several DC2s that start right up even when they sat for a couple of days.
Here is what i have done. I pressure tested the fuel pump to make sure that the pressure doesnt drop to low so it doesnt have to prime in the morning. I have changed my coil, did a full tune up and ran some fuel injector cleaner and clean ICAV and the other valve, but after all this it just idles better and still starts the same way. Ive serached HT and g2ic but no one every finishes the thread.
The next thing im thinking about doing is changeing the Fuel Injectors, and the fuel filter.
Doesn any one think that will fix the problem or do you have any other sugestions?
Also i was told that i have the wrong spark plugs in the car, would that me a diffrance. I have aftermarket NGK but i was told I need the OEM ones?
im having the same problem and worse. this happens like every other day. my car wont start after sitting for 4 hours or more. like the battery is dead. you can hear the starter click like it doesnt have enough power to crank. some time it just takes like 5 seconds before it starts cranking. once it starts i can turn it right off and it starts perfect. o and i also have a gsr with around the same mileage.

That doesnt really sound like my problem. My car always starts but it take a little longer than it should.
theJunkman try replacing the main fuel relay (rz0063 same as the 88-91 civic and 86-90 Legend runs about $50 new) before swapping injectors out.
my car is exactly the same. takes a bit longer to start in the morning but once its warmed up, it fires right up. i was thinking of changing out my cap/rotor, spark plugs and spark plug wires. would that help it any?
Nope. Ive already changed everything that your thinking about. Im now thinking of replaceing injectors, fuel relay and fuel filter. This doesnt really bother me but i would love to get it solved.
maybe because some people just wanted it to start a bit faster, i dont know. in MY case its everytime the cars been sitting for awhile and once in awhile it takes 2 cranks.
I am also having the same problem as described, I went to Hendrick Acura dealership in Charlotte, and they told me to replace the fuel pressure regulator. They said when it stops working and you turn the car off the pressure doesn’t properly build or something and its a fairly easy fix.
eh, maybe its just me, but the .5 seconds of my day it takes the car to crank over that extra time wouldnt be worth the amount of money he’s thrown at it so far with no answer
im not bashin anyone or anything, just saying to me it would be a non-issue
I am hoping that someone has a answer. I have a 92 Acura LS and have the same problem. Car runs fine when it is warm. I have turned my key on and let stay in that positiion for about 5 seconds and it starts quicker. It happens more when the car is parked in my drive way. My drive way is on an angle (about 30 degrees.) If the car is parked on level ground it does not happen that much.
Vehicle has 140k for miles. I have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, and both air filters. I am leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator. I am going to search to see how you can check it.
