Compressor wont kick on.

Ok so this is my first Da with a/c and its hot outside. Trying to get it up and running. I need a little help though.

This is what I have and what I have done so far.

The ac system is already retrofitted as it was when I bought the car. What the car was missing was the ac tensioner pulley and the bracket. After trying to find it forever I finally got one for $25. Its already on now and I installed a new belt with it. I put a vacuum pump on it and it held at 30lbs for 10 minutes when I took it off. Today I bought some ester oil and three 12oz cans of freon. I let some of the oil go in before I started up the compressor and started adding freon. I am aware that if there isnt enough freon in the system the compressor will not kick on but at 60lbs I would expect something to happen. The compressor will not kick on. Now I am getting worried that the compressor is not good but I know that this still is not determined. At this point I am going to jump the compressor clutch relay but I have no idea where it is or which terminals I would need to jump to get the compressor to kick on. Any suggestions. Am I heading in the right direction?
Any help is appreciated. thanks

  1. check your fuses
2.check your relays for compressor clutchh when u press the AC button you should feel/hear a click in the relay
  2. when you press the AC button make sure the blue light turns on
4.check for power at the compressor connector with the key on and AC button on
5.check to see if the clutch is spinning.

start with those steps firstt… im pretty sure our car only takes about 1.5lbs of freon but double check on that…which is about a can and half of freon
