About 2 months ago in the summer, I just put new taillight gaskets on my
car because the previous owner put altezza’s in without gaskets, I had a titanic leak inside. One were I had to take apart the
entire bloody interior to fix. So once I put my new gaskets in, I sat inside
while my dad used the hose to spray the car and make sure there
was no more leaks inside. Ever since then, I have had no problems whatsoever and no condensation in both lights. However, up until last night after a whole week of rain my left taillight started to develop some condensation while the right one was absolutely fine. So I checked my trunk to make sure that there was no pool developing there and there wasn’t. No water, no condensation, no drips no nothing. So the reason I am posting this up is because I do not want to have a shoddy leak again. So fellow Teg owners…should I be worrying? Because winters a coming and I would HATE it if I got another leak. Thanks in advance.
well I have/had this same problem but then again some tard drilled about 8 holes into my tailight…did you know that the rain runs through your trunk past your tailight? if not looks around it to make sure its clear of any leaves or so, also did you use any gasket sealent? that may help :-/
in the winter you should because it may cause the condensation in your taillights to become brittle & when the bulb heats them up, they got hot & may crack
^that may help, I just re-read your post and understand your problem now. Since you already have new gaskets, it could be one of two things. Either your left one isn’t quite sealing right or the taillight itself has a little crack or something somewhere thats letting a little bit of water in. Try self-adhesive foam strips (available at your local menards). Thats what I replaced my beat-to-shit stock gaskets with when I cleared my tails. It was neils idea I believe, worked for me
Good luck man, I know this type of shit is frustrating.
Well I’m gonna go check these things out again. I already have some
silicone sealant so maybe I’ll try and seal around the taillight. pye174, I
will be checking the broken taillight theory. Thanks again guys, for
understanding the frustration of this kind of problem.
