Ok so I’ve got jdm headlights with an HID conversion, and it doesnt have high beams, and I dont want to pull the headlights apart to convert the fogs for high beams, its just not worth it to me, because I don’t think the HID’s are that much brigther since I have them pointed down to not blind other drivers. I didn’t do the conversion myself so im curious of anyone else knows how to go back, or has done it before. I know im gonna need the harnesses for it, but i will need the JDM harness, not a USDM harness, correct? Will the JDM headlights still fit h4’s or did the previous owner have to modify them for the HIDs? Any info you guys can give me would be great.

The HID bulbs mounted in the headlights are held in by the stock metal retainers used to hold in the stock bulbs. I remember when I mounted them I had just gotten the headlights so they weren’t on the car. I remember not having to bend them too much out of shape so it shouldn’t be too bad bringing them back. I used HID’s because the headlights came with some fucked up harnesses and I had a spare set of them laying around. Stock bulbs for the JDM headlights are H4H which are hard to come by or just plain expensive. I remember reading about converting to H4 which I think some Civics come with so I’m guesing you could hit up a junkyard and get those then maybe slightly modify where the bulb goes to fit the H4 bulb. Do a search on h4h to h4 conversion and I’m sure something will pop up.

oh ok that’s cool. Yeah I was thinking about swapping out the HIDs a little while before I sold the car but never got around to it. Well glad to hear you’re enjoying the DA. You should be seeing me on here for a while longer since the 200sx SER I bought got stolen :mad: . Got it on the road and about a week later it got stolen from my house. So anyway I bought another DA now and it’s bone stock, so time to start all over again.
