Converting HVAC controls from slider to push button.

Has anyone ever done this? My slider controls all stopped working. My question is, do I have to pull the whole dash and get the the airflap box? How do these things work?

i need some tips on thos

I installed my elelectronic heater core and blower motor from the manual ones but are the plugs for the stuff on the RS electrical harness? I currently moved the levers manually and hard wired my blower motor cause it got cold here!
