Coolant Smell???

I’ve had this issue for years, in several cars.
90-integra
92 integra
now my 85 CRX

After the car has been warmed up I’ll turn my heat on in the car, turn on the fan and all I can smell is coolant for the next 5 mins or so. after that it clears.
I’ve noticed no coolant loss. and after checking the heater core no leaks or evidence of damage, leakage.
The smell always come back after switching from cold to hot, but never stays very long.
anyone else have this issue?
Again I’m not going through coolant or have any leaks inside the car. It’s been doing this for a few years in my 92 integra with no loss of fluid.

I have gotten that but usually only after I purge and flush the cooling system or perform a repair.

I always chalked it up as residual coolant burning off whatever it spilled on in the engine bay and getting wafted in through my vents.

yea IDK… I ran my hater on the way to work this AM and no coolant smell…

OP i get a similar smell but only when i beat the hell out of my car for a long period of time…lol…i cant figure it out either…most the days its fine but when i go to the next state and im at average 80mph for 20 miles i get the smell…

Does the heat temp gauge ever go up?
