coolant temp guage not working

i just finish my rebuild and boost kit.

and i start and ran (idle) engine so i can burp and bleed coolant and notice my guage wasnt workin so i replace the temp sensor for the gauge and still no show of tempeture.

any help or direction i can go to check or replace

thanks for the help in advance

Clusterrrrrrr

could it be the ecu i got it chip on the different ecu???

thanks

doubt its ecu its make sure u have a good connection on the temp sensor on side of the head. its possible that you got another bad one

x2

The problem is NOT your ecu, the ECU has nothing to do with the gauge in your cluster and it gets it’s temp info from a different source (see below). Are you sure you replaced the correct “sensor”?

There is an ECT “SWITCH” which activates your cooling fans.
There is an ECT “SENSOR” which gives info to your ECU.
There is an ECT “SENDING UNIT” which tells your gauge what it should read.

ok i will get another temp (gauge) sensor and see.
and if still nothing i guess the cluster i have 2 get…

but now i got a bigger problem

the teggy wont start is floding (fuel) i disconnect the injectors and it starts for like 3sec or so.
i plug them back in and crank and no start and could smell the fuel!!!
i took the plugs and the tip where black and soak on fuel!!! got a new set and still doing the same thing!!!

thanks for all the help

i got steady fuel pressure
got pulse and spark and change the main relay!!!

help please!!! i want my beast out!!!

I’ve encountered that problme before.

Helped a buddy do an auto to 5 speed swap on his 98 civic.

Hes was bad, the fuel literally started leaking out the intake mani.

The solution and problem was a BAD ECU.

So i would throw one from someone you know tat has a good ECU and see if the problem persist.

I dunno about the main relay, could be a possibilty.
Something worth checking out

thanks i will check for a ecu from one of the guys
