cooling fan doesn't come ON????

i wanna do it properly just how it came from dealership. just want to know if its the switch or relay

i just told you along with others saying it too. your going to need to jumper the plug to the sensor like said earlier. if the fan works then you know it’s the sensor thats faulty, if it doesn’t work then you know it’s something with the relay, wether it be wiring or relay will be determined.

what sensor and how do i jumper it? sorry im a electrical noob :frowning:

pics will be very well apreciated, or a haynes manual page NUMBEr of the sensor on it so i can go and look in the book.

:english: i been havin da same fan problem and all it says everywhere is to jumper this to that…how da heck do i ‘‘jumper?!’’

If you read this post It will tell you where the switch is and it is a bitch to get it unpuged When you do get it off there two connector in side just short then together and the fan should run when the key is on. If not the relay is in front of the battery on the radiator support.

thanks

the switch is right by the thermostat on the 92-93 and on the back of the block for 90-91 I believe. try that and if not listen to everyone else and find the relay. It should be one of those two things.

damn my car is way too low and damn sicior jacks don’t go under there. anyways guyz should i just do the relay if that doesn’t solve it, i’ll than do switch?

:owned: LStypeR, you’re only allowed to use the “Speak English” icon if you actually speak English yourself. Whatever you’re speaking is close to English, but no cigar.

jumper, n:
2. (Electronics) a short wire, or a small plastic object
containing such a short wire, used to optionally connect
or disconnect two points in an electronic circuit, so as
to include or exclude portions of the circuit and thus
modify the function of the circuit. Such jumpers are much
used to adapt add-on circuit boards for different
conditions or functions within a computer.

hey guys, thought i would give my ending solution to this. anyways i drove a full year like this and recently found out that my cooling fan did come on. So I realized all this time the shitty ass thermostat was defective from napa, so i went and got an oem one and it fixed everything now. anyways OEM FTW, if i told you guys the weight difference in the two thermostat’s you won’t believe me. Btw the oem one cost $45 after tax and the napa one was somewhere around $26.

So from now on, im not putting no aftermarket parts on my car except oil filter.

My $12 Autozone thermostat has worked well for the last two years and 50K miles. They had a $8.99 thermostat also, maybe I will try it if this one ever fails, lol. $45 for an OEM thermostat, that’s hilarious. But, I do agree, you will usually never have to worry about the quality of an OEM part.

I don’t know who ripped you off, but you can get an OEM thermostat from www.acuraoemparts.com for $12.94 plus a couple dollars for shipping. And for anyone thats interested, heres a picture of an OEM thermostat versus a cheap Stant.

ya that doesn’t look like my thermostat. and come to think of it i think i got hella ripped off.

I actually went with a oem one after a bad experience with an aftermarket one. I had the motor out and after that it just froze up. It was fairly new so it shouldn’t have got stuck.
