Cooling Fan relay

Anyone have a diagram or pic of the cooling Fan timer control unit or the fan relay??? I am trying to figure out how to fix my fan so it doesn’t drain the battery becuase it runs for hours after the car is turned off.

I would be willing to bet it’s the relay, [sticking on] it supplies a ground directly to the rad fan, [rad fan has constant 12V+ going directly to it]

I guess it could be the “Radiator Fan Control Module” but it would have to supply both the 12V+ and a ground to the rad fan relays control coil.

You will have to test the wires at the rad fan relay with ign. off and fan still running

1- Black- ground at all times.

2- Blue- ground out of relay for rad fan should only have ground when relay is on, [or stuck on]

3- Yellow/green- relay control input, will have ground from “Engine Coolant Temperature Switch” anytime coolant is hotter then about 194 degrees, [or possible a ground from the “RFCM”].

4- Black/yellow- relay control input, will have 12V+ when ign. is in the run position, [or possibly 12V+ from the “RFCM”]

The relay is located in the engine bay just to the left of the top of the rad when facing motor, [pass side of car]
Try this, with ign. off and fan going give the relay a couple sharp taps, if fan turns off, replace the relay, you have found the problem.:sipread:94

If the relay doesn’t fix your problem, try disconnecting your oil temperature switch. The only thing it does is control a ground for your fans when the car is off (through the fan timer unit).

Ditto to the above, if you have A/C. :up:94

Where would that switch be located???

It’s on the backside of the block under the oil filter. Green connector on my '90.

i did had the same problem, i removed the oil temp sensor plug but the fans still come on randomly when the car is off… i had to remove fuse 20 to keep them off but I have no AC this way…

so im guessing the fan control unit is busted…

where can the radiator fan control module be found on a 92 integra Rs
