What is the cost and avaliablity of a B17A engine?
Would a B17A be better then a B18C in a G2? Keep in mind I had a GS-R and loved it.

Both are going to be about the same price I’d say because the b17a is rarer but a little older. I think both will perform about the same if they’re both at the same comp. ratio. I think the b17a block would be nice to have because it has a better rod/stroke ratio. Either would be good to have though.
anthony, did you get my email?
you can go ahead and ignore what i said about the non obd to obd1 conversion though. Since you’re in canada i doubt it will really matter. Just do like it says in dan’s engine swap guide and use non obd ecu, injectors and distributor.
I got your e-mail Colin and Thank you.
I think I’ll just rebuild the stock engine for now and swap later.
rebuild now and swap later? I’d highly advise against that. You’ll end up spending SO much more money. Just do your research and save up some money to do a swap, maybe even rebuild the engine before you swap it in. In the long run you’ll be much happier.
Well I’m still in school so I think rebuilding my B18 would be a better idea, IMO. Cause I’m poor
have you calculated how much it would cost for a rebuild? cause its pretty damn expensive. Most likely you could get a full b16a swap for the same price.
Yeah, your right. I’ll look for a GS-R engine. B17A or B18C.
I’ve gone through the same debates as you because I’m in school too. What you can do is work on the bottom end; shotpeened rods, ITR pistons, balanced crank etc. And then later when you have some money put a b16a head on it. You get a faster car now and you’re not throwing away any money know what I mean? Just a thought.
