Cowl cover screws and caps

I’ve been asked to make the screws and caps that keep the cowl secured to the windshield white plastic bolts. I’ll look into this ASAP.

Had to stop before I ran errands but it’s going okay.

They look nice I noticed I’ve been missing some of mine when I installed the water redirector

I did a test fit, unfortunately the little arms do NOT grab the center bolt that’s already on the car. I’m off by 1mm. Will need to adjust the model, reprint, and try again.

Printed new one. Will test fit today and make adjustments.

Printed twice, both adjusted. Still won’t grab and seal. I think it is to do with the dry-rot of the already-old cowl grommet on which the cover screws attaches.

I’m going to purchase a NEW cowl grommet and then make a 2-set piece that will work together.

Man good work keep it up ! :+1:t2:

Geez. So after buying the parts 11 days ago, it finally shipped yesterday. The parts must’ve been hard to source. It’s probably a good idea to be going this route of doing the 2-piece set.

Part arrives Monday 7 July.

The part arrived, and I test-fitted my current design’s screw on it and it’s NOT fitting at all. The little tabs won’t engage properly with the screw, so I’m going to keep the outer surfaces and redesign that mating/tapped surface. What I’m worried about though is that movement that is needed on the screw part, because that gets adjusted on the fly when fastening the cowl. It’ll take some effort for sure.
