undernieth the cowl there is a second cover… i have a water leak… i got some 3m sealant that i was going to seal that lower cover with… but just looking for some ideas… maybe this isn’t even the reason it leaks… but it drips from inside the car right by the blower motor…
By now you have at least a cup of water in there if u had the button switch to recircular air.
I had the same problem and you can buy the lil rubber seals from the dealer cheap or u can do what i did and remove that cowl and the second cover and under there i think about 6-8 plastic type screw in and the leak is coming from the rubber clear seal that has been cracked. Use silcone sealant and dip them one at a time and let it stand for like 15 minutes. After that then put them back in using a small philp screwdriver to push it in (carefully) and make sure its seated. Now replace everything back and you shouldnt have any leak when rain.
Stating if u did it right once the silcone drys its flexible too.
how much is it to have the dealership switch out the cowl and the seals?
im going in about 20 minutes to my dealership so i can let you know.
they said it would cost you a hundred labor and the 8 little parts costed 28.50 total.
it doesnt look to hard to fix your self plus theresa tegtip.
i had acura of boston do my trunk leak and cowl leak. For the cowl leak they just selaed it up with silicone.
They were callin it the “fish bowl” lol.
