Crazy oil leak.

So ever since my DA has been turbo’d ive had problems, of course, its Honda.
Since day one this thing has had a small drip when it was warm, but now its out of control. There is oil ALL on the bottom of my car, its on my intermediate shaft, and all over the back of my block. Cam shaft end seal has a tiny tiny tiny drip, but its the back of my engine thats covered.

The only thing i can maybe think is, that it is leaking somewhere by the tranny, or my head and coming down on the axles and it is flipping all under my car.
So today and look and i have a massive puddle of oil under my car when i left work. here is what ive tried so far.

  1. New drain plug
  2. re taped all my turbo fittings
  3. new oil pan gasket
  4. Head gasket had 3k on it before the turbo, stock Honda one

could my tranny not be seated correctly into the engine? Donno if the tranny spindle splines get oil from the engine. But it seems to leak the work toward my drivers side, thats where from the front to the back of the car i have a line of oil

The car seems to run really good, but for some reason its all over the place, i think i leaked like 3 quarts in a week, if not more.

Thanks fellas

back of your block…have u checked ur PCV canister? or ur rear main seal…

Lol “of course, its Honda”, thats a good one.

Ya, that comment is funny, considering that Honda’s are so well engineered that you can take an engine with over 100K miles, then add a turbo, and if tuned correctly, can run for years. Try that with any other car that wasn’t designed for turbo.

Also, Honda’s are built so well, and the engine internals last so long, that many Honda engines have over 200K miles, but the only thing they nead are some seals that start to go out and need replacing. It’s called normal maintenance when you have over 150K miles. My car has over 300K miles, no leaks here, and it is a tribute to the Honda miracle engine. The B-series engines are the 6th wonder of the world. Remember, the B16A was the first automotive production naturally aspirated engine to pass the 100hp per liter threshold.

As for your oil leak problem, clean the block with engine degreaser. Then go for a drive and come home and look for where the oil originates. If you cannot tell, then use an oil with dye in it, they sell it for this purpose, to find leaks. You then drive the car and use a black light to illuminate the dye. My guess is you have excessive crankcase pressure due to a poor PCV system being used on a turbo application.

Ok, i went out and got a new PCV valve. i guess i don’t know what the rest of the “pcv system” is. where can i check this? and also, i would get the die, but like i said, this oil get flipped all over the place.

And what is this Rear main seal you speak of? ill look through my service manual.

I know, I had to laugh at that one. Nothing beats Honda.

have you checked your oil filter, the seal ring could have split. this usually only happens from overtightening the filter. or the oil pressure sensor sending unit mounted near the base of the filter, these are common leaks as far as anything coming from the back of the engine.

oh… you might not want to start disrespecting honda/acura on a honda/acura forum… just a thought:tsk:

Im not disrespecting… ive owned and drove nothing but Honda’s. But when you go turbo, there is always something little after you fix something else little.

Umm, it’s not Honda’s fault that you decided to turbo your non-turbo car and didn’t do something right. :nobody:

So lets keep talking shit, from somebody posting in the assistant forum. It is NOT my turbo that is leaking, it is something that is on the stock engine. That is also why i posted in the stock engine bay components area. I stated since day one my car has had an oil leak, this is before it was turbo’d. IF you have read any other of my posts, you would know i have been having problems with this car. Just looking for help, not people talking trash and sarcasm. We are all g2 owners here, so why try to start something. :stare: :hugs:

Also i appreciate those who have made suggestions to me about the leak.

Haha, sorry I don’t make an effort to read all of your posts :giggle: why did you turbo it if you knew it leaked oil??? I mean turbos don’t need oil or anything…
