Looking for creative places to mount my SAFC, turbo timer, boost controller etc… and random gauges! I like stealth, like the glovebox… BUT LETS SEE CREATIVE KNOWHOW AT WORK!!!
i have a triple guage pod on the right side of my dash, right above my glove box. its angled a bit twards me. it works great for me at least. but dont put guages that you really need to be looking at over there. i drilled through my dash… into the glove box, and back through it, so the wires are hidden from plain view… ima try to get pictures of my car soon.
bump bringing it back… i was just about to ask this same question, i was thinking about making something under the ashtray in that little opening
thats wr i have my exast temp n oil temp. just make sure u tilt a bit upward so u can c it clearly
places ive seen pods are on the side next to window…in front of clock…in center console…and on the newer interas theres this really nice looking one that fits over the guage cluster with two pods one on each side in carbon fiber http://www.k2motor.com/acura20.html close up >http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-5006790027353_1999_118919632 …also in the glove box…i would have bought the frog eyes if they were for our year just cause of the look i could deal with 2 pods
I’ve seen fitment of those frog eyes. terrible. they use double sided sticky tape… and it sticks up awkwardly. I’d use this if I had a G3. this is not a G3 so you gotta get creative. I mounted mine where the air vents in the center console used to be and moved the climate control to under the radio. it’s 1/4 din size so it fits like a EQ. it was some years ago I did the write up on it but I’m too lazy to look right now. maybe I can post a pic if you want
hmm that sounds interesting, id like to see a pic just cause im curious how it looks.
im prob going to either go with the usual rice pillar mount or try for that slot.
i was also thinking of mounting them in the dash- to the right of where the clock is- and angling them towards the driver seat- its just a lil more work, and to pull that whole piece out is a pita.
this is what it looks like, this is my set-up and how i did it. I like the location of these being in the limelite of my drivers eye and I don’t need to take my eyes off the road to look down at the gauges.

this is a OK location, just if your monitoring your gauges especially if there important while your driving, you need to look down to see what’s going on with them. it really depends on what gauges you have to go with a set-up like this.
here’s his thread
Out of the 2 set-ups, I think they are going to cost the same, but going my route is going to take some time. nothing you can’t complete within a day though.
where to buy the 3 gauge din mount.
yeah i like that guage in the guage cluster but its to hard for me to do i wish they came stock or someone sold the whole clusters like that:idea:
i gotta install some gauges in my car… had a wideband check the other day and my shit runs rich like hell. Pretty much stock LS that backfires sometimes lol… baaaaadddd… need to convert to obd1 then get tuned
i just might start, lol
i put my apexi neo down on the front of the ashtray. just put one side of the velcro it came with on the front of the tray and stuck it on, it fit just between the sides of the console. only problem is that i cant use the lighter but it never worked so oh well
