cruise control problem

So recently my cruise has been acting up and I can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve owned the car for like 5 years and it’s always worked fine but recently it started randomly turning off. It sets no problem and then after like a minute or two it just cuts off like you tapped the brakes or something. When this happens I can usually get it to engage again right away so everything seems to be fine but for whatever reason it keeps turning off on its own. Any ideas??

Does the CC main switch indicator light go out when the CC stops working, even for a sec.?

Unplug the CC unit and make sure there is no oxidization, [corrosion] at the pins, sometimes just unplugging and then plugging the harness back in is enough if there is a poor connection due to oxidization.
Also, check the CC ground.
Check the brake switch, [light green is 12V+ input from CC main switch, gray is 12V+ output to CC control unit, when brake is not stepped on] and clutch switch, [black is ground input and pink is ground output to CC control unit, when clutch is not stepped on. 94

The main cruise switch light stays on the whole time. I’ll try unplugging the CC harness, you talking about the one under the dash? Also, where is the ground for the cruise located exactly? And as for the brake and clutch switches, what do you mean by check exactly? What would I be looking for?

Yes, the one under the dash.

The easiest way is to install a jumper, [one at a time] that connects the black and pink, [clutch switch] or light green and gray, [brake switch] together, switches must stay plugged in.

If jumping a switch solves the problem, replace that switch.

Be CAREFUL, you will be driving with a CC that has it’s “safeties” bypassed, be ready to turn off main switch.

If neither one solves the problem I would try a jumper on the main switch, [black/yellow and light green] the connection at the main switch would only have to be open for a split sec. to turn CC off, you may not see the indicator light go out for a split sec., please do not test that by watching the indicator while driving, besides being unsafe, it is not as reliable as a jumper. 94
