cruise control problems

so over the weekend i took a 7 hour road trip and whenever i disengaged the cruise i heard this odd thump sound. it sounded like it was coming from inside the car but it could have been from the engine bay.
every time id tap the brake while i was in cruise id hear that thump but if the cruise wasnt active then i didnt hear it.

another thing with the cruise is that when i set my speed it doesnt stay at the speed i was going but goes like 3 or 4 mph lower and i have to use the accel button to get it to where i was at. when i resume it goes right back to the speed i had set it to but before it goes to the set speed it will drop me a noticeable amount of mph before doing so. example: i had it set to 75 but was goin 70 and hit resume and it drops to 66 or 67 then accel up to 75.

neither issue seems like a serious issue they are both just annoying and id like to see if i can fix both or at least one problem.

The “thump” is the CC actuator releasing, [return dampening is worn out] it’s not a biggie, the fix is to replace the actuator.

The drop in set speed is a sensitivity issue and as far as I know it is not adjustable on an OEM CC, the fix would be to replace the CC control module, [or live with it]. 94

ah. i really didnt think it was anything serious but figured it was worth lookin into the issue. thanks.

lol exact same things happen to me, fixable via 10 bucks at the junkyard I guess.
