CTR Cams in GSR head or ITR Head?

Hmm, guess that was part of the original question. I figured the stock valvetrain couldnt take the abuse. So, back to the original question what do ou think would be better? The complete ITR head, or paying twice, maybe three times more to buildup the B17a head, what kindof performance differences would there be? It would only be the one CTR cam being slightly more agressive right? And a little more reliaillity. But anything else?>

There is nothing better than a full built race head assembled and spec’ed out by someone that has done enough of them to know what works and what does not (this is dependent on what you want to do in your race circumstance), that being said… the gains are not as big as you might expect when you view the amount of money being spent. if your a part timer and do not want the every possible advantage or if you don’t have a big budget, your probably barking up the wrong tree if you consider a fully built head. the OEM Vtec heads are wonderful if the castings are just cleaned up a little. I would say you could get away with some aftermarket (portflo/itr, toda, skunk etc) springs and retainers… if you want stainless valves, your should pay for bronze guides… this will be good enough to run about any stage 2 cam on the market. You realize the ITR head and the b16/17 head are the same casting right?
