If the built-in cupholders in your integra’s glovebox door aren’t cutting it and you want a really simple cupholder, then try this quickfix. The oem console cupholders from acura are available out there, you just have to find them. In the meanwhile, I offer you this ghetto fix if you don’t have money like I do.
you’ll need:
Rubberqueen “Cup-N-Can” cupholder (part no. 5121)
This is a no-brainer. No drilling or cutting required. The cupholder is the one you can get at any Pep Boys or other car accessories store, and is the type that you hang on the side of your door. See the pics below for the setup. :ghetto:
I dont know if you can still find these, its an acura factory cupholder addition. It slides into the ashtray slot and covers the lighter. Handy at keepin ppl from smokin in my ride. Bieng an acura part it might cost and arm and a leg, but its worth a shot, here is a pic of mine http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/phil_kubichka/detail?.dir=/9eef&.dnm=71ae.jpg
What do u need a cupholder for anyway, its an automatic :-* , :manual: is where its at.
I’m just kiddin girls drive manuals too
I just bought the above mentioned cupholder from pepboys. But instead of installing it in the front ashtray, I installed it in the rear ashtray. Slight mod to the cupholder is needed. Just cut the flap that goes into the ashtray to the shape of the rear ashtray’s innards and use a two-sided self-adhesive fastener, stick one side to the bottom of the cupholder and the other to the carpet. Nice way to add a 2nd cupholder for yourself or someone sitting in the back to use.
i have a ford taurus DIN cup holder with coin holder i installed. i kinda ghetto did it with a few screws because ididnt have time before i went back to school.
yeah i always jam mine between the ebrake seat and the passenger seat as well, but at this point i’ve spilled enough damn coffee into my e-brake assembly and shift boot that i need to find a better solution.
anyone have a part number for that acura cupholder addition? or better pictures?
If you use the same cupholder as in the pictures, you can remove the back flap of the cupholder (the part sticking into the ashtray), then you can jam the bottom plastic base of the cupholder (the part that the bottom of the drink rests on) under the center console plastic base in an area between the tip of the e-brake and drivers seet, sort of sandwaching the bottom of the cupholder between the plastic center console and the carpeting. Then, although the drink is resting on the center console as before, the sides of the cupholder keep the drink from tipping over…works pretty good.
Caveat: I don’t know if it works with the seat in the forward position at all (I ride with seat full back position).
I could email a picture if anyone’s interested.
