Has anyone ever made a custom exhaust that looks like the stock exhaust but without the cannister in the back?
I was thinking about making one myself (2.5 in) and just wondering how it would look compared to the RS*R.

Obviously we cant tell you if it would look or sound better, depends on your design, the muffler you use, and the welds you can do. Its definitely possible though.
I’m on my 2nd custom catback.
Ebay cat, 2.5" piping, & N1 style muffler. It was too loud for me.
I went down to 2.25" piping, 94’ stock cat, resonator, and N1 style muffler, it sounds perfect now.
i did. 2.5" spun body high flow cat, 2.5" piping, stock resonator with bottlenecks removed, Comptech muffler with bottleneck removed, TSX tip. Looks very similar to RSR.
Do you guys know what i am talking about tho?
it looks similar to RS*R but with the the muffler/cannister and just a tip. So in place of the muffler/cannister would be just the piping. anyone comprehend?

i dunno if they still make this exhaust i had it for about 4years now and its still holding up great… its by airmass, which is a product from holley i believe----the catback is called " warlock " - i think i paid something like 210shipped new and the thing sounds fuckin great very deep and not tinny sounding. if anyones interested i can post a vid or something this weekend. i also now have no cat and a megan racing header but it didnt really change the sound much.
it had a huge tip at the end but all i did was go to a walmart and buy an 2 1/2" exhaust tip and cut the old huge one off and weld this one on. honestly i used to get pulled over non stop for “modified exhaust” but all i did was change the tip and since i only got pulled over once, and the cop told me a might have a hole to get it looked at and let me go. meanwhile its the same exhaust.
you can prolly do this with any side cannister exhaust (excuse my poor spelling/grammar) that has a rice tip.
the pics kinda suck, and its dirty so it appears black but this is more or less how it looks.- prolly if u throw it in photoshop u can lighten it up so u can see it better.

yes. it’d be loud as shit for one and two there is no reason to. a high flow cat is just as good as a test pipe, and a muffler will smooth out the sound. you will get pulled over all the time for noise violations.
well would there be any muffler like the rs*r that is free flowing too?

It only took me about 2-3 hours to Build and Install very Simple and Cheap $110 and some change, its a lil dirty cause i live on a dirt road…
when you do your piping, just get an oval magnaflow or flowmaster muffler and put it in place of your stock muffler. free flowing, and pretty decent tone. then just have a pipe bent to go from the muffler to where your tip is gonna be. you could do what the above poster did and weld up a cheap 3" tip or something. if you painted the system all black except for the tip, it would LOOK kind of like the RS*R. but if you do 2.5 with no cat (or a high flow cat) and no resonators, it would probably be a little loud. might be louder than you’d like and probably get some unwanted police attention.
hope that helps. but you can get universal oval magnaflow or flowmaster mufflers in MANY sizes. get one close to stock size and you should be in good shape for noise control.
