Custom welded harness bar

this is my situation. im doing the truck conversion on my DA and i had to get rid of the auto seat belts. all i have are harnesses but where our harnesses mount (back seat) passes my wall so i need to make a harness bar. would anyone know the proper way or correct bar to get welded in and exactly where do i weld it? please if anyone has any info or tips i’d much appreciate it

why a FWD truck? You should try and get like an 88 or 89 accord station wagon i think it is and convert that. they are 4wd im pretty sure

just because its different. the car is strippd and the parts are gone so theres no turning back. gonna make it look like the s13 trucks because the rear kinda does look like an s13. plus with all that weight reduction it’ll help in rally or our scca program.

If you’re making a harness bar, you can weld it wherever you want, there is no “right” place - cause it’s custom. But really it’s much more complex that than, you should post a picture of what all you’re cutting off of the car, that will obviously limit your mounting options. If you still have the entire B pillar in place you could just do a manual seatbelt conversion opposed to using harnesses.

To add to that, depending on what all you’re cutting off, you’re going to want to add some supports to strengthen the chassis as well as make it safer. Depending on how you design that stuff you could integrate a harness bar.

heres the build thread to my forums in hawaii http://forumshawaii.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=596927

and heres the basic pic of what im tryna make it look like

so i will still have the full b pillar

If you are keeping the b-pillar then you can just mount manual seatbelts just like they came stock in Japan and Canada. Search for info about the manual seatbelt conversion and you’ll see how the belts mount to the b-pillar.

i have always wanted to make a da in to a convertible i just have never found one that was smashed on top. looks good way to be unique

ohh. kk thanks a bunch
