Good morning G2IC I have giving some thought into swapping in a D16z6! Currently my car has the B18a1 130hp 111torque and the Z6 has 125hp 111torque so I won’t be loosing very much either way. Here is your chance to chime in let me know what you think…
It’s not just about peak numbers… A stock B18 will reach its peak-torque earlier than the D16, and likely will carry that torque further into the powerband.
Top end performance will feel nice because of vtec, obviously…
What exactly is your question?
The power numbers may not be too different but I don’t see a benefit to it when compared to staying b series. You would need custom mounts, modified exhaust, along with a handful of other modifications to make the swap work. I think the money would be better spent on a better b series engine. My .02
There is a da model that came with a single cam. Look it up
I know there is! As everyone here knows its rare to see it!
ive seen a dc2 with a single slam not sure what year but it was right in there looking like it found its home.
oh I saw it at a pick n pull wrecking yard.
I would assume it would be the.reverse of swaping a b into a civic.
you need civic engine mounts and engine post, ehh not, really sure but its been done.
was it white?? i knew a kid who did a sohc setup on a dc2 way back
here, the dc comes with a zc in it… 90% of them. the other 10% of them are type r’s…

Personally I think it’s a total waste of time and effort.
D16Z6 125 bhp (92 kW, 125 PS) at 6,600 rpm & Torque: 106 lb·ft (14.7 kg/m, 144 Nm) at 5,200 rpm
90-91 B18A1 130 bhp (97 kW; 132 PS) @ 6000 rpm & 121 lb·ft (164 N·m) @ 5000 rpm
Someone did a vitara build in a DC4 not too far back, was a two tone car like green and black. Trapped like 118 or something like that.
IIRC it was like the reverse of a b swap with same year components.
yeah it was and was mostly dirty and had primer white on it. it looked like it was parked for a long long time before it ended up in pick your parts in Stanton CA.

The torque is going make it feel awful. A lot work for a downgrade. Honestly, they are both slow…However, stick with a B series if your budget is tight IMO.
