My rear right spindle and trailing arm is bad on my 90 Teg. When I ordered one from a salvage yard they gave me a 94+ integra one by mistake. The lower control arm on it looked just like the ones I have on my 95 integra. I mean the whole trailing arm bolt up with minimal difference. But does anyone know if they are the same as in camber and caster wise? After changing it, the steer wheel is slanted and the car won’t go straight when going more than 60mph. Any suggestions?
BY THE WAY, G2IC IS THE MOST KICK ASS FORUM OUT THERE. YOU GUYS ROCK.
did you have the car aligned when you replaced the part?
did you change/take out the compensator (sp) arm when you swapped them out (its the arm on the front “tip” of the TA, its for adjusting rear toe)?
Ben
I’m currently using DC2 trailing arms on my DA. I used the DA compensator arms and lca’s. However I used the DC2 uca’s (they are the same size).
The DC2 trailing arms should provide a little more positive camber than the DA arms. But caster shouldn’t be affected since its adjustable.
As the others said… did you get it aligned? If not, then you need to. If that doesn’t fix the problem then come back and hopefully somone can shed some more light on the situation.
da and dc rear trailing arm the same?
I used the 94 up integra compensator arm that came with the assembly. I overlooked that little piece when puting back the parts. So I should use the DA one and do alignment when I am done? I am glad that the dc TA offers a little more positive camber because that’s what I need. My rear right has negative 3 degrees. Probably due to an accident before I owned the car. The fact that the car was lowered with Neuspeed yellow didn’t help. Thanks for all the replies, they were all very helpful.
The compensator arms may or may not be different. Compare them side by side and it should be pretty obvious if there is a difference.
My guess is that your alignment is way off. The compensator arm is where you adjust for rear toe settings. When you installed the new parts did you tighten the compensator arm to the body in the exact same spot as before? It wouldn’t be a bad idea to compare the compensator arms, just to see if there is a difference. But mainly you should get a 4 wheel alignment. Then if the problem persists you can troubleshoot from there.
when you do suspension work you should ALWAYS have an alignment done afterward.
i was lucky enough to find a shop locally that will put my car up on the rack for me and do a check for free, and then will only charge me if i want them to adjust something.
changing BOTH sides to the DC’s might be a good idea as well.
