Btw, the antenna I can pick up is a Metra UA200, mentioned above, so if you guys need those, that the one I can get ya for $20.
I possibly want one, but I cut the antennae wiring. Do I just wire it back in or how does that work? I also welded my antennae shut and bondoed over it. Duck tape huh… :umno: Yes it would work temperarily, but after you get your car painted do you want to repaint it again down the road cause you half assed it? I wouldn’t suggest that to someone who has to pay to get their shit painted and worked on. Welding it shut is really simple the only hard part is finding someone to do it. stop by a school and see if they can weld it for you. At least he put the ducktape on the bottom, this old guy put tape on the top of my friends da and put bondo over it.
I love the duckt tape + bondo deal, cracks me up haha! … (it’s duct tape by the way). Basically the paint is all that’s holding the bondo in place, it will fall out and you’ll have yourself a hole again (with rust).
Welded a filler piece in place, straightened, painted:
for those of you with shaved antennas, you basically use something like this?

On my 2001 DB8 I have an internal antenna that is stock.
I’m curious weather or not this application would work
on g2’s. :hmm:
I know it’s duct tape, but in this thread it was a gay idea so I used duck.lol
That black teg looks nice, I could still see a slight ripple in the clear. I just welded my new teg shut recently.
The duct tape comment was for the guy who used the paint/bondo combo, as for the clear, there is no ripple I assure you ;).
So what has to be done to use the s2000 antenna? just the little mast? and is reception as good as oem?
L.
lol, I didn’t mean your black teg…I meant on my old car. I was actually commenting on how good yours looks compared to mine.
PIc of my Gen 2 with Shark antena fitted!
So, did you just take out your power antenna and screw in the s2000 one? It looks very nice!
L.
thats not a shark antenna…its just a low pro antenna…this is a shark
Get satalite radio!
legendx05: You’r right its not, but its been dubed Shark Attach II and I got it from this site: http://www.locustom.com/shark2_kit.htm
SRLNCLT: Yes thats pretty much what I did, the old motorised one has to come out and the new one just bolts in with the only problem being the angle in which it sits on, you have to play around with many angles till you get it right, otherwise the antenna will point towards the outside and just looks stupid if you leave it like that, the install only takes about 15-20 mins…
any pics of the Beemer ant on a g2? also all you who are selling ant’s, post pics if you can, i might be interested.
:werd:

I was wondering if any of you have ever had a problem with your reception while using a Metra amplified internal antenna. Everything is fine with the quality until I turn on the A/C and then it gets fuzzy. I’ve noticed when I use the washer squirters too that the reception gets worse mometarily. Is this a bad ground somewhere? How could I fix this?
Sounds like a bad ground, also, it should be mounted to the glass, not buried in the dash. Also, where did you hook up power, it should be to either the antenna turn on off the deck, or the key-on from the deck if your antenna out does not support that high of a amperage draw.
I have one similar to the Metra one, works ok but never had a stock antenna to begin with so not much to compare too. Its hidden rite behind the rear view mirror mounted on the windshield
why does everyone think that bondo will do the trick everytime, BONDO SUCKS it will work but will fuck up later and it just sucks!
