Need an intake solution… Any suggestions?
My issue is I have no idea what’ll work with my setup, and rather than dumping hundred trying to find the best solution, I’d like to pull from the community experience if possible.
I’m absolutely not changing my manifold so don’t even go there.
use the OEM GS-R intake tube with an aftermarket filter. I currently have a 3" intake made for an LS, that I cut and modified for use with the GS-R intake manifold. I, however, will be changing my intake manifold in the near future.
You or anyone else know if an AEM Cold Air Intake for a DA/EG/DC will with with my setup?
here is a pic of member 92BlueTeg’s engine bay. This setup will work if you have a stock (or stock sized) battery in it’s stock location:
took an ebay 3" intake, cut it right behind the battery after the 2nd bend, installed first section as normal, then was able to “rotate” the piping after that cut so it all sits like it’s supposed to.
if your stock/stock sized battery is still in its original location (like pictured above) this is the best option. also the cheapest.

if you’re not utilizing a stock sized battery, or a relocated one, like myself, you can take that same intake option and do what I did:
gives it a less curvy path.
intake is a modified ebay 3" short ram, with a Blox Velocity stack and filter. sounds lovely when VTEC engages, and when the IABs open.

My battery is not in my bay and I’ve done a wiretuck/removed abs so I’m looking for the cleanest possible thing for my setup, without swapping manifolds. (GSR Mani is under-appreciated imo)
if all that stuff is out of the way, just order an intake made for a DA (you’ll just have to cut, as seen above, in order to compensate for the lower throttle body position). If you just want a short ram intake, then order a regular DC2 GS-R short ram intake. It’ll look the cleanest and you won’t have to modify it. I bought a GS-R short ram, but it won’t fit due to my ABS. when I delete that, the DC2 short ram is going on.
