DA truck conversion

revamping this hopefully i think imma try the removing of the hatch then make a bed. gonna be starting autos in community college soon and it requires welding so if anything ill post results and progress. just dont hold your breath haha

i have begun the project. i know like 99.9% may disapprove this but Im trying something new. so far i’ve busted the rear quarter windows, removed the hatch and cut into the roof. i came to a slow down because my sawzall blade broke.

That’s pretty sweet what you are trying to do. I dont see why people hate so much what others do with their cars, if they care so much maybe they should go to the scrap yards with picket signs and stop people that recycle perfectly fine cars. Hell even one time one of my neighbors that had a perfect condition OEM 91 Civic Si scraped the car to the crusher since the engine only went out on it and I didnt notice it till the day he took it to the crusher.

Seriusly, this is the type of shit that deserves a build thread in general discussion. no matter what you do, there always going to be someone that disagres with what your doing. good luck man. ill be sure to keep an eye on it:up:

ah thanks guys. i hope this build will be a pretty sick one. i would post it in the general but pics are too big and the process of uploading them now is weird

NVM you wernt cutting off what i thought you were thats all

Keep it up man, whenever my tegs hatch is up I always wanted to turn it into an elcamino-like deal.

Looksgood!

What kind of blade did you use on the circ saw…I never really thought about it but I guess they sell metal ones? Or did you just cut that shit with a regular rip blade?

P.S. If you wanna easily re-size your pics download the Windows XP Image resizer. Its small, quick, and could not be easier. just right click on the file and click resize.

for the circular saw theres a metal cutting blade. it only cut the roof but when it came to the c pillars i had to use a sawzall
That does not look like it is very safe to me.

Those pillars that were cut were for body integrity. Looks like they did nothing to compensate for this.
I have seen this done to a 90 civic four door he weld the the rear doors and shaved them. that thing was ugly.

i know a guy that cut the roof of his civic 91 civic hb and to make a covetable he drove around for 3 mouths and the body rip in half when he went over some train tracks…
he junk the car.

thats why imma make a cage hoop and connect it to the strut points to act as a c pillar
