Street racers and people caught with stolen parts should be punished and if law decides that the cars should be crushed so be it, but it’d be nice to see the same punishment applied to drunk drivers. Drunk driving is more widespread than street racing, yet drunk drivers get to keep their cars?
:iagree:
however!
we all have those days in the summer when you see a nice supra or ferrari or something and wonder, “hmm, i wonder if i could take it?” and you 2 go at it at the next lights. Soo, technicly that is street racing but street racing at night for money i got to say is a Big No No.
and for the stolen parts… according to cops, No recipt, No legit. So, I can understand where the cops are coming from, and at the same time, our cars are being stolen left right and center
clean cars but stolen parts on the car, fuck thieves.
I definitely agree to the last comment, keep the street racing off the streets. You NEVER know what could go wrong and your life can change for someone or yourself. As far as the article, Man, I’m glad I dont live in Cali anymore. I just dont understand Arnold country. Emissions, street racing, crushing cars, and a state full of theives. Your probably better off owning a domestic vehicle with stock parts instead of a Honda/Acura. Then you have those high @$$ gas prices. Every Honda enthusiest needs to bail out of Cali where it is affordable and 93 octane is available. Theives dont apply…
don’t take it out on the poor cars, can’t we just crush the owners instead?
It’s kind of complicated to go into detail with this, its really hard to have reciept for every part you have on your ride. Most of the people trade parts with others and there is no reciept involved…
theres alot i can say. perhaps i will edit it later.
anyone know this junkyards phone#?
Thats pretty stupid! you’d think they would resell them or something to get some money out of it! just think if they did that all the time they might not have to keep raising their local taxes like they do in my area!
but that’d be a whole other list of problems, impounding cars for having stolen parts…then turning around and selling them back, probably to the person it was stolen off of originally. sounds scandalous :giggle:
lol the police reselling cars with stolen parts…what’s the lesson there?
If the vin/serial #s weren’t scratched off at least they could have tracked them back to the original owner…(but then again he could have sold them, and the buyer had his engine stolen). Better off crushing them.
its the owner’s fault. They did not come into court when the judge summoned them and that’s that. They probably knew they were stolen parts.
im wondering if pay pal receipts will matter, because i buy everything from people on forums using pay pal…i’d be pissed if that happened to me, but i also have no remorse for people having stolen parts, but it sucks if you buy something from someone not knowing its stolen and you get popped for it. I think they need to work on this more. they need to get the people who actually steal the parts and put it on their car and crush that CAR
Also, when i went to the junkyards last saturday it was like 5 DA integras in the yard and of course its like 5 people on 1 DA stripping everything, WTF, i seriously can’t show all the receipts for the stuff i have on my car because i don’t keep track of it.
i agree… the drunk driver that hit me and then kicked in the door of my teg (over $1500 damage total) got away with a dui fine and i got stuck with 12 months of diversion and an $855 restitution fine for accidentally running into his car after he tried to atack me!!
that sucks man.
damn…here in san antonio they just impound the car and whatever i stolen they just auction it off…
Ouch
I wonder how many of those cars are being unjustly crushed? I’m all for cars with stolen parts being crushed but I’m not seeing how they can destroy your whole car just because you don’t have paperwork for your motor or something. If they can tell it’s stolen that is one thing but these cars aren’t being crushed because they were found to have stolen parts, they are being crushed because they can’t be proved to NOT have stolen parts. There is a difference. Seems pretty extreme considering some of those might be 100% legal but they just can’t prove it and just got pulled over for something stupid like a exhaust. That doesn’t sound right.
Why don’t they have to prove it is stolen instead of you having to prove it isn’t? I mean shit happens, reciepts get lost. My motor was pruchased 100% legally from Hmotorsonline but I have no clue where the paper work is. So should that mean if I got pulled over for a modified exhaust in cali they should be legally able to take my car and destroy it? According to what Ive seen it would and that sounds pretty fucked up to me.

that’s what i’m saying, what happens if you lose receipts? and they just assume its stolen
yeah, theives do deserve it… if the parts are stolen.how do they know if the parts were stolen?i just hate to see the cars that does’nt have any stolen parts in them being crushed.what they doin??? hateing on us…what we doin??.. gettin money…
may that be a lesson learned: make sure you have the paperwork for your engine swap.
all of the cars here were crushed due to either street racing and/or having stolen parts in them. The judge gave them a chance to show in court, but they never did. Something fishy.
the only thing i would be concerned is having a receipt for the engine and transmission since those are what’s mostly used from a stolen car
