I bought a pair of what I thought was jdm da6 window visors a couple of years ago from a guy who is on g2ic and lives near me. I was trying to acquire rare parts for a DA that I was planning on buying. Well, I bought a DB2 earlier this year and yesterday I just placed the visors up against the place where they are supposed to be mounted and discovered that they seem about 2 inches long. I also have a pair of CF ISport visors and they line up perfectly. What I am looking for is someone that may have both pairs of visors and can place them side to side to see how much of a difference they are in length and post a picture for me. I want to try and rule out that they are DB1 visors. In fact if they are DB1 visors then I am going back to they guy and either going to try and get my $ back or see if he can get a set of 2 visors. Any help is greatly appreciated.
after a couple of years you are going to go back to get your money back? i personally wouldnt see giving you your money back after a couple of years, if you had the car why didnt you at least put it up against the car when you got it to make sure it was for the car?
I didn’t have the car at the time. I was buying parts for a 91LS that I was going to buy from a friend but came across a db2 for a steal of a deal. The guy has some sort of contact over seas and he always has jdm parts for sale so I am going to see what I can get worked out.
DA visors will be slightly (probably 2") longer as the DB doors are slightly shorter to maintain the compact size of the tegs
what he said!!:iagree:
speaking objectively, your absurd thinking that you can get refund for an item that you bought from a member here YEARS AGO, let alone buying parts for a car at the time you didn’t have in your personal possession, and come today, the part doesn’t fit. Sorry dude, but you’re SOL; even if you paid with paypal, paypal has a 30 day limit for filing disputes, anything after you’re outta luck. It is your responsibility to note these problems in a timely fashion, if not you’re just going to be looked down upon.
Here’s some advice, if it’s not for a 2 door, just resell it again to members here or other honda forums that you frequent and use that money towards the right set; don’t go bitching back to the original seller for your money back, it’s waaaaay too late to do that at this point in time now. Anyways Good Luck!
Fortunately enough, I was smart enough not to make such a large purchase online and go through paypal. I met the seller in person whom coincidentally went to the same college as me at the time and lives only 30 minutes away from me currently. Also, having bought multiple parts from him and his brother I have a good repoire with both of them. I simply made a reference that the seller is a member on here and also a local car forum. In talking with him, I found out that what had happened was that he had ordered a few sets of window visors from over seas and was sent 4 door visors. He eventually sold the sets and found out from the other buyers that they fell into the same situation as me. He was under the impression that they were 2 door visors and never sized them up to his car to verify. Needless to say we are working things out.
I dont want the money back, I am just looking for what I was told I purchased. We are both at fault. Him for not assuring that they were 2 door visors and myself for jumping the gun by purchasing parts for a car that I didn’t have in my possession.
if they dont fit, just sell them to a member on here cuz they will sell quick and buy another set…its that easy…if someone told me they wanted to return something they bought years ago even if it wasnt the rite thing id tell them to fck off
Word…
I think he’s being resonable considering that he has a relationship with the buyer (being returning customer) and seems to keep in touch with the seller. The seller obviously knows he sold the wrong part. Why tell a returning customer to F off and lose business all together? If the seller was just trying to sell a single set of visors b/c he didn’t need them it’s one thing, but it seems like the guy runs a (side)business by selling JDM parts and knows he sold the wrong part. All in all it’s a used part start with lol and he never used them. As long as they come back in the same shape they left I don’t see what the big deal is. If he does trade them out I would say the selller has awesome customer service and return policy. IDK if I knew I sold someone the wrong part and I knew the person from more than one sale I would help him out and make things right. The parts would have to be in the same shape as I sold them though.
Question was answered between sizing of DA9 and DB1 visors.
dpintos can/is currently handling the situation on his own from here on out. No need to turn this into a big discussion.
