ok so today I decided to go and get my seat belts fixed and they said that my alarm was the reason for my belts not to work… ok easy fix take it to best buy ask them to fix it ok everything with the alarm is fine and nothing relates to the seat belts is the answer I get ok w.e i’ll jus put the seat belt over my head w.e… now their closed and I turn my lights on and my dash won’t light up?? checked the fuse its blown easy fix right? NOOOO! put a fuse in ding blown fuse ok pop in another ding lights on lights off?? any tips sorry im having zero luck with this car today please help =(
It is obvious there is a short in the dash light circuit, the first place I would look is at the radio harness, if an aftermarket HU has been installed, make sure the red/black lead in the stock radio harness is not shorting to anything.

took it back to best buy again and they didn’t figure it out so I was heated and said middle finger to them went home and took my dash apart… a lil looking and a orange ass wire from my stereo is on some metal… took it off plugged in a new fuse and my car literally said ding ding ding and I saw the light =)
the wiring on th radio what’s the orange wire used for? and fcm you’ve been nothin but help for me your helpin my learn more and more
The orange lead on HU is illumination would be connected to red/black if stock plug was cut off or to the orange or orange/white lead of a harness adapter.
If Best Buy installed the HU I would be going back and getting any money I paid for install back.:whisper:94
no install all my stuff best buy only did my alarm… the adaptor has both orange and orange and white? plus it has red and black…
The orange on the adapter harness is illumination, orange/white is normally rev. illumination, or the “Dash lights Brightness Controller”, [sometimes called dimmer control] depending on the make and model of the HU you may or may not need one or the other, or either one.
Now do you mean the adapter has a red lead and a black lead, [switched power and ground] or a red/black lead, [red lead with a black tracer]?
The stock radio harness has a red/black lead, [illumination] it would be connected to either the orange or orange/white lead of the adapter harness. 94
