From what I can see yeah our dash looks like vinyl pressed and glued over foam and stuff.
As far as I know, a lot of custom shops will re-glue and stretch vinyl, or leather or whatever over the dash but thats all to change the look, not make it factory.
Whats wrong with your dash? If its just the color you want to change vinyl sprays work really well when the dash is prepped right. Mine went from blue to black and still looks perfect after 2 years.

nothings wrong with it, just want to make a slight modification, without losing the factory look
Hmm…interesting problem. Maybe once its sanded and ready, spray some paint on there (something with some body to it…not primer or whatever, that dries flat) And and while its still wet maybe take some vinyl that matches your stock pattern, and lay it down on the paint. Quickly take it off again…Think that might leave the vinyl impression? I dunno, sumthin like that. Otherwise maybe try to draw some faint vinyl lines into the bondo once it dries to match. It sure wont be easy though. hehe
Ideally if the part you were adding/modding were a completely seperate unit from the dash (say a box or curve or whatever) then you could just stretch vinyl over that part, and glue that to the dash…Real hard to say without knowing what specifically you are doing…Got any pics?

It’s in planning stages right now but I can say that I’m integrating gauges into the dash in a factory fashion. I want people to double take and think “wait, they didn’t have that option!”
