Anyone have any diagrams of bolt/screw locations? I’m having a hell of a time finding these buggers and the Haynes manual sucks real bad. I can’t get the clock out, or the black piece that holds the gauge cluster and AC controls. ![]()

the clock just snaps out. Try using a screwdriver to help you pry it out.
for the piece around the gauges and a/c controls it mainly just pops out. but there are a couple screws. first remove the fan and temp adjustment knobs, then pull off the rectangular panel that is under them (the one w/ the red and blue temp lines…). There are a couple screws behind that piece.
now look to the very right of the panel, there is a small (about 3/8" x 5/8") piece of plastic with some horizontal lines on it, pull it out and you’ll find a screw behind it.
as for the actual dash removal. Its pretty simple, just start taking EVERYTHING apart. The dash is pretty much the last thing that can be removed… just about everything else up front has to be taken off first.
I’ve got everything but the dash out, everything in front of the seats, I’m just scared of breaking the black piece around the clusters and the clock =/
yeah, just pull those few screws and start yanking. just be careful because of how the a/c vents attach.
its really not hard, just pull progressively harder and harder till it comes out… just don’t start w/ brut force.
after that is out the dash comes out pretty easily. There are a handful of small bolts which are all easy to find. Then you have to cut some of the wire loom holders, and disconnect some wires then the dash comes out.
Does no one make diagrams of these things? I’ve searched all over the internet and can’t find anything.
maybe try searching the online helms manual. that manual is typically better than the haynes. however my hanes told me exactly how to pull out the gauge cluster (which is where it tells you how to pull out that plastic piece that surrounds the gauges and a/c vents).
the clock comes out really easily. just pop the sucker out… i just pulled one out last week, it came out like butta!
Okay got everything out, the dash is completely loose, but I can’t pull it out. The steering column is in the way. Do I have to drop the column out of the way? Where are the bolt locations for that thing? I took out about 3 bolts and the thing was still as solid as before.
where is the helms website? or the online manuals at least? ![]()
check the archives forum. there is a post titled something like “helms for 90-91 teg” then in someone’s reply there is a link to a downloadable version of the 92-93 helms manual.
i’m still confused as to what you’re having trouble with. This job realy doesn’t require a manual.
The dash won’t come out because the steering column is stopping it… It’s not that confusing. heh
make sure you lower the steering column. that is all that is needed. you don’t even need to take the plastic covers off of the steering column.
did you get all the wiring out of the way? you will have to cut or remove all the orangish/brown clips that hold the loom together so that you can pull the wiring harness out. the wiring harness is intertwined in and out of the dash, and needs to be messed with in order for the dash to be able to be removed.
Wiring is all out, everything is out… I can’t pull it out. ![]()
I’ll try again tomorrow when it’s not raining.
did you remove some of the bracketry where the center console is? I don’t remember for sure, but some of that metal tubing stuff where the center console is needs to be taken apart. The dash will come out with a decent amount of metal attached to it in the middle. Like the metal that surrounds the cd player and what not.
other than that i can’t think of what could be holding it in. There are all the bolts, then the wiring, and then the parts near the center console, i’m confused as to what could be holding it in. Mine came out soooo easy.
Once all the wiring is detached and the screws removed you just have to jimmy it outta there. The hard part is putting it back in so remember how you got it out, it will go back in the same way.
Just so you know, none of the metal came out with the dash, none of the tubing, nothing but the dash came out. I had all screws out, all wires out, everything was out. As I said about a billion times. The STEERING COLUMN was in the way. I dropped the steering column by loosening the 4 bolts holding it on and the dash slipped over it with no problems.
BTW, with the steering column dropped, the dash goes in easier than it came out. ![]()
There are proper ways to do things, and there are ways that work. shrug
The good news is that this is the link to the online Helm shop manual for the G2:
http://blackteg0.tripod.com/g2integra/id2.html
The bad news is that the body section IS NOT there yet. The guy who has this website has assured me as of yesterday that it won’t be long. Standin’ by…
I removed my dash from my G1 teg and found the same problem with the steering wheel. It really got in the way. So when i removed my dash in my G2 i removed the steering wheel all together, but i only recommend doing this if your going to put on a racing steering wheel. which is what i did. because i had to brake the center piece to get to the screws to remove it. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291994521&idx=1
What the hell did you do to that car?
At first I thought you photoshopped those stickers in. Man that’s bad. I’m sorry, I hope you never have to sell it. ![]()
dont worry fellas stickers came off so take your flames else where. pics are kinda old just wanted to show the interior for example any problems with that?
