Dash Removal

I am trying to take the top half of my dash out so I can wrap it and I cannot seem to get it out. I am also trying to get the clock out and do not want to break anything. I think it may be easier if I could also figure out why the black trim peice around my gauges will not come out either. If anyone could help me soon it would be great.

I’m pretty sure you just have to pry the clock out with a flathead screwdriver (wrapped in a towel or shirt so you don’t scratch it all up). But if you’re prying pretty hard and it’s not coming out and it looks like it’s gonna break then maybe there’s a screw but I seriously doubt it.

The plastic bezel piece has screws all around that you have to take out. Let’s see, two under the knee panel I think, two in the guage area, one or two under the fan switch, one behind the little cover all the way to the right of the air function push-buttons and maybe some more, I dunno. Basically, after you think you’ve got all the screws out, try to pull it out gently and if it’s getting stuck somewhere, chances are that you missed a screw. It would help if you had the Helm’s manual to locate all of the screws. HTH

The clock is easy, just gently pry one edge out with a screwdriver, the whole clock will pop out, just unplug it and you’re done

I can’t help you with the upper dash

Which piece, the piece that is directly around the gauges(bezel) or the piece where all the switches and vents are?

Pry out the clock from the side, it always seems like it is going to break before it snaps out. There is a bolt that holds the dash in directly behind clock.

Behind the a/c fan switch trim piece there a two screws. To the very right of ventilation controls there is a small cap with horizontal slots, there is a screw behind it. The best way to get this cap out is to drill a small hole and use the drill bit in the hole to snap out. Other if you try to pry on the edges you will just marr up the panel.

Drop the steering column also. don’t forget the side bolts behind side defroster vents.
