Datum1 tow hook

I just got my datum1 tow hook Front and Back today but i dont know how they go on. Can any one help me?

ok so the car already comes with tow hooks front and back. so why would you buy another set? the ones that come stock are wayy stroners then anything you can bolt on, and way better made. i bet if you re sold them to some kid in a civic filled with stickers you could make a killing.

i never understood this trend and never will.

but on another note congrats on getting them make sure when you put them on that they look clean. and throw up some pics for us.

if you have a teg lowered 2" or more you can not use the stock front tow hooks

im lowered 1 1\2in’s and the few times ive had to have my teg on a flat bed, ive hated the chains being pin between the bed and my front bumper. looks like its going to rip it off or something…id say keep them and if you have to get towed put them on before the tow truck gets there… that is if there easy to put on…ones ive seen at put on with 4 bolts…

ummm…ok?

my car was lowered 2.5" with a front kit and had no problems towing onto a flatbed using the front hooks.

i use the same tow company and tow guy. but i guess he isnt angling the bed as far down as it goes. cuz my front bumper gets bent from the chain for a few seconds untill the front wheels are on the bed…i had thought about tow hooks but they dont look right

When they tow my 240 and when I change my oil, I have to drive it up on wood blocks or bricks because the nose is so long. No tow hooks.

ever tired to tow a lowered teg with a tow strap to say a truck or something? ya not going to work bends bumper up that what i was refering to

would have been helpful to mention that in the first place.

I have the itr front lip and im riding on sportline springs. Theres no way my car gets up a flatbed without using blocks of wood when they use the front tow hooks. My front lip is in the way. I have to uninstall the lip everytime i need towing:down:
Last time i needed towing, it took the tow guy 1.5 hrs to get it up on the truck:shrug: That guy was claimed that he towed many lowered cars.:bs:

Thats just life driving a lowered car!:manual:

i have the datum 1 rear tow hook…its easy to put on…it goes in the cnter on the factory tow hook spot…jus use the 2 bolts and the bracket that comes with it…works great…i have used it to pull my friends civic down the road when it broke down…no problems at all

where did you buy your tow hook from?

i dont know about there tow hook but you can buy there billet cam caps with the o-rings on them off ebay for 10 bucks, i never had a oil leak scence with it. i swear by these things, ive had so many rubber ones leak and i hate seeing sealant all over everything.

i got my datum 1 tow hook from ebay from datum 1 engineering

bringin up old thread i guess…tow hooks are mostly use for drag…easy towing…some people use em to look more nice…just how the jdm looks i guess…i have it on mines and it looks great…just like my ge rear diffuser
