Daytime Running Lights - Install!?

I know most Canucks don’t like having daytime runners on all the time, but it’s the law in canada…and if I’m to bring my car back, I’ll need to install them :frowning:

Here’s are my questions:

First, is there an easy/cheap way to get DRL’s installed in a 1990 US Teg? (need this to pass inspection)

Second, is it easy to disable?

Third, Is the relay interchangable between US and Cdn models? Ie: any chance I can just buy/borrow? the relay from somebody?

Thanks,

Are you sure you really need them to pass the inspection?? Damn, just rewire you foglights and tell them they are your DRL’s!

uumm as far as I know DRL’s weren’t a manditory thing until '91 in Canada?
thats how I got away with disableing mine for so long and the cops couldn’t do anything about it.
Acura added a drl function in '90 as a saftey thing in Canada. In the '90s all the drl’s are is the parking lights come on when you put the e-brake down. '91-'93 the highbeams come on at a lower wattage then normal.

yup, Gigarange is right… My 90 only had the parking lights coming ON as DRLs… (I didn’t remember cause I disabled them a long while ago!)

Hmm, rewiring the fogs sounds like a good idea…

Sweet…

As for the actual rule. I read that all cars manufactured after Nov 89 are required by the government.

I guess the inspection will depend on how tight the mechanic is and how much he/she knows.

Rewiring the fogs sounds even better now…better check the teg to see how much damage I can do…

Thanks,
