I have a 93 db1 with 190xxx miles with nothing done to it but hks catback
my car ran a 10 flat in the 8th …is that normal?
yup…my Da w/ a gsr swap runs 9’s in the 1/8th mile and 14.6 in the 1/4 mile.
with my ls motor i was running 10’s and 16’s in the 1/4 mile.
is your gsr swap a b18c1 engine? and you run 14.6? what other mods do u have?

mine with jsut n intakes and a fart cand ran 16.015 inthe 1/4 but i’ve pulled on mid 15 sec cars before, soo i just think i need to learn how to drive.

yeah and at MIR, i had an amazing run on a STOCK MOTOR of 14.9
i told rob all about it. i didn’t keep my slip but my times through all section were great. 60’ time was 2 seconds flat. the rest of my runs were mid 15s but i did have 2 good runs of 15.35. they were identical, same 60’ times and same speed in the end, it was crazy.
i’m not trying to sound cool, i only managed it ONCE. i did use my buddy’s drag radials on that run, but i dont think they could have made THAT much of a difference. i’ve been back twice since then and have still kept up with mid to low 15’s. had a 16.4 run but (usually i’d never admit to this but) i missed 2nd AND 3rd gear 
i’m thinkin i have a factory freak or something. because once i get into 3rd gear, i can pull on GS-R’s with bolt ons. and i pull HARD. ask rob, we ran once and were even (he spun JUST A TOUCH at launch and i just rolled) as soon as i got in 3rd, i started leaving him. but i let off real early cuz i didn’t want a ticket.
oh yeah, Rob, he used to be a member here. he sold the LS/VTEC motor but i think he still has the car. his email is like eugene-at-prostreetimports.com (or net or something, Neil notice i didnt use the little @ thing, i read the fine print sometimes, not a rule or nothing, just something you prefer to prevent spyware etc.) i’m told he’s a pretty cool guy. he said he sold the motor and when he sold it, it was running fine, and he ran that thing HARD every day. shows how well he can build a motor huh.
yea, too bad by the look at how many trannies adorned the floor of his garage, seems he was build the motors a wee bit powerful :burnout:

yeah i DLed the episode hell i even put it on DVD! HAAHAH yeah i even sent him an E-mail i prolyl won’t hear from him intil monday tho. but his car is :jerkoff:
yea he’s really cool in real life. He looks exactly the same now as he did in the true life episode. I havn’t seen his db1 in person, but he showed me pics of it. He has some major plans for the db1 that when he finishes everyone is going to be awe struck. The shop is pretty small though and they take a while to finish jobs, but they always come through w/ sick ass projects. Take my car for example 14.6 in a usdm gsr is pretty impressive.

you never know, but i’m told he’s pretty big on All Motor. i wouldn’t doubt that he’d TRY (it is not easy, in ANY car just search, and our cars are no exception) a K Swap. they are becoming easier to get and just a little cheaper than they were a year ago. the guy is amazing with a wrench so who know’s what he’ll do.

no he doesn’t…he’s at his shop all day usually until like midnight or later working on cars.
his project for the db1 doesn’t involve a k-series motor, it’s way more complicated than that.
a tri charged twin turbo mustang 5.0 engine with a roots type cobra charger all in a DB1. . . dones’t get anymore complicated than that.
i wanan come out and live over ther ina CA. but i heard it is hard to survive unless you have alot of money to start off with. whats it really liek over there. . ?

yes it is very expensive to live here in cali. A 2 bedroom apartment w/ 1 bathroom near la goes for about $1700 . If you live out on the outskirts of LA county in santa clarita you can get a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment for about $1700 per month, the only downfall is that you are far away from La about an hour drive maybe 2 hours w/ traffic which you encounter on a daily basis. House prices in a decent area near LA are about 500-600k. My house for example which is an a good area about 15 min from LA, 3 bedrooms/3bathrooms has a value of about 900k right now. So unless you have enough money and have a degree to get a good job you’re going to have a tough time out here.
and about the db1…i was told he wants to keep his quiet project so i won’t say specifically what he’s gonna do, but you’re semi close.
