Hey guys, just posting here quickly before I got to class.
Recently I replaced my alternator, because my old one was draining the battery. I did it, and started it and there was a loud squeel from the alternator belt(there was too much slack in the belt)
So later I ended up replacing the battery with an optima redtop and moved the alternator further back, to reduce the slack in the line to it’s normal tension. Now I do have my battery relocated to the trunk. It’s grounded via the transmission bracket, the jack bracket in the trunk and the passenger rear strut.
I go to start the car and nothing happens, no clicks, no crank, but all the lights/accesories come on/work, you can hear the fuel pump come on. I can rule out the battery because its brand new and the alternator was working when it was in a friends car. Anyone have any suggestions? I’m thinking its the main relay? or maybe the negative grounds for the battery relocation?(didn’t sand ground on strut) a friend suggested popping the clutch possibly diagnosing the starter?(i don’t want to do this, has a brand new exedy clutch with less than 100mi on it) I do have brand new wires and plugs, but don’t see why it would be those, because it would still attempt to crank correct?Any suggestions before i go to the junk yard and grab a relay?
