dc shocks fit a da?

will tokico blues for 94-01 tegs fit a 90-93 teg?

i know you would probably have to change the front forks. but would the rears fit?

yep

Yes, but you will need DC springs on them and the rear will sit a couple of inches lower if you have regular springs on them.

YES im running the tokico blue with ek springs

oh so if you put dc shocks in the rear you have to put dc springs

… u need to run it as a complete setup. u can’t run dc struts (not shocks) without dc springs.

Basically what they’re saying is.

DC shocks, DC springs, DC shock forks, on the front.

DC shocks, DC springs, on the rear. And it will all be well.

Is this true? I’d like to know just for reference, didnt know that myself. I thought the rears wouldnt work either way (I thought i remember reading that anyway)

Correct. The rear works… just the struts are actually shorter overall, so it will look like the back is sagging unless you have something that is adjustable like coilovers.

I’m running DC Koni Yellow fronts with DC forks with DA springs, with extended custom top hats. DA springs will work fine. It just sits lower than before.

look at the hybrid suspension section in the archived section. its been covered to death on there

An extended top hat would definitely be necessary (would probably just sit on the bump stops without it). Since the DA front spring is a smaller diameter than the DC, I had the issue of it not even sitting properly in the spring perch (would hang on the inner lip of the spring perch). For the rear, my DA 2" drop springs were as tall as the stock DC springs. So, from my experience, DA springs on DC struts are a bad idea.

Perhaps I should have specified. I’m using an adjustable “DC” coilover for the front (500 lb/in), and in the rear I’m using DA Eibach Sportlines with the non-linear section removed (475 lb/in). I’m running the extended top hats in the front, and the front DC2 Koni Yellow dampener has the snap ring/collar.

In terms of this set-up being reliable, I’ve flogged the car on the track at Virginia International Raceway, and I ran this in SCCA Solo II, SM and STS classes for three years, and I’ve had tons of mechanical failures, none of which have ever been spring/dampener related.
