Well after 10 autocross events, I decided to spring for my own goods. It’s an HJC Smoke CL-14 Graphite Series. I’m going to buy a different visor for it for sunny days at the races. hmm…I should drive around with it on. oh yeah, and for all the ladies…arent i sexy
 hmmmm
j/k… nice goods…how much?
yea where and how much?
I got it at Everett Powersports. I coulda got it online, but I really didn’t want to wait and I’d hate to have UPS or FedEx drop the package during shipping or something. It was… 159 + tax…so…173.27. Its a CL14, but the one I got had the extra special finish on it, so it was like 20 more. Yeah I’m pretty sure the solid black white or reds can be had for 139. I went for the full face that way if i do a track day and i go off course, i wont get a mouthfull of dirt. that, and in case i ever decided to get a motorcycle or something. lol oh yeah, and the fact that a full face just plain looks cooler.
Looks good… much better than what my friends wear when they autocross(Old dirtbike helmets with oakleys)
Yeah I’ve been wearing open faces with my Oakleys so far. I just really would like to have a tinted visor. cuz it would be all mysterious and we all know the girls like mysterious
For a track day make sure of the required helmet rating. Most “track days” require a D.O.T rated helmet. Snell rated helmets are USUALLY not acceptable. Look at the label inside your helmet and check the rating. It would suck for you to go all the way to the track and then find out about the rating differences. Good luck , have fun.
It’s Snell M2000 and DOT rated. I’m way ahead of ya
Snell SA95 rated helmets are ALWAYS accepted. Until 2005 that is, when they require SA2000 or higher.
M2000 will be fine for nearly all autocrosses, and a bunch of track days. Check with the organization before registering.
Whaataetyeay??? SA2000??? those are like 300 fucking dollars!!! thats bullshit!!!   why did they do that?
yeah i just planned on using this helmet for autocross, and if i ever got a bike. if they’d let me use the helmet on track days i would, but odds are i’d borrow one anyway
NASA events require a SA rated helmet. Some events don’t.
Most autocrosses don’t, so you should be fine.
yeah i know that some places require the Snell SA, but i was going :wtf: because you said some club was requiring Snell SA helmets soon. was that the SCCA?
Sorry, I meant that nearly all club racing (HC, IT, etc.) and many HPDEs require SA helmets, and soon SA 95 will be obsolete.
You are fine for autocross.
