How much would a dent from a paintball cost to repair? on average.
either do it yourself or get an estimate…we can’t tell you that cause we don’t know your shops quotes.
well what i really want to know is if there is a dent in the trunk, does the whole thing have to be repainted or can the just fix the dent w.o repainting the whole thing. Shops aren’t open on weekends but im itching to know.
they wouldnt have to do the whole thing. if they know good techniques they can just fix the area of damage. why the hell you shooting your car up anyways?
lol i didn’t shoot it up … actually
was it a prank from a buddy? if so tell him he sucks donkey nuts! that’s just mean
Paintless Dent Repair, should cost you around $50 - $100. Hell of a lot cheaper then repainting.
yeah but paintalls are toxic, shot my friends pickup about 100 times (his truck was our tag post) and when he washed it, his original paint came off too…
Mmm… i wonder what the stuff does to your skin?
its toxic to paint, cause its got some stuff in that breaks paint particles up i guess…anyways all i know is that it fucked my buddies f-150 paint right in the ass when we washed it, but he didnt care he laughed.
not all of them are toxic, the ones i have here says on the bottle “paintballs are non toxic and biodegradable”
Paintballs are actually not even paint… they’re pretty much liquid soap. I can see them ruining paint if they’re left on the car an entire day in the sun <Shrug>
well the dumbass did leave it on for a week he thought it looked hardcore…i guess it’s his fault but he don’t care he flipped it 3 times…it’s wrinkled to hell!
Ok, lemme get this straight, i really shoulda asked this before. Shooting from about 30 feet away, can a paintball dent and chip paint off a car?
No idea. Is this a hypothetical situation?
If the paint is chipped then paintless dent repair is out. If the rest of the paint is in good condition then they won’t have to repaint the whole panel. A shop can just pop out the dent, fill and repaint a small area, blend the new paint with the old, and shoot it with some clear. They may want to clearcoat the entire panel, though. I’m going to guess $200 or so.
Or you can just do it yourself. If a paintball can make a dent at that range I doubt it’d be very big. You’ll need a range of sandpapers, from about 80 to 2000 grit, a hammer and dolly to knock out the dent, some filler, primer, a can of colour match paint, and a can of clearcoat. If you go to Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire you can find just about everything you need. They should even have some free 3M pamphlets by the sandpaper that outline the repair steps.
My truck has been hit quite a few times at close range by a tweaked gun and never been dented before. Check the velocity on your gun before you hurt somebody. Also, the reason that the painballs removed paint is not because paintballs are toxic, it hasn’t ever hurt my vehicles, but the paint contains fine oils that will soak through your paint into the primer and cause the primer and paint to separate. If you get a paintball on your vehicle don’t try to rub it off with the vehicle dry, it will only buff the oil into the paint. Try to rinse it off then soak up the excess with a towel lightly, then wash your car. Never try to rub it off. It will look ok at first, but will come back to haunt you.
quick way to do a body job, shoot the hell outta your car with a paintball gun, dry rub it off, no more paint, just repaint over the primer! hahahaha
ahh fuk, now my car is gonna peel i bet… i dry wiped it off, let it sit overnight, and cleaned it the next day at about 12ish… now im worried lol
So no dent then?
ohh no, theres still a dent, but now im just sketching about the paint falling off lol
