did a brake conversion to non ABS help

i did a brake conversion and i changed it so i could take some weight off the car. i went to a junkyard to get the lines from a non ABS car and a proportioning valve and a MC .

But for some reason my brakes keep locking up in the front like the brake petal get hard by itself and the car will slow down by itself and i don’t know what is wrong with the brakes, can it be the lines that go along the firewall of the car can they be no good? Someone told me that i should try to take out the fuse under the hood and it might work does anyone think that can be the problem?

what can be the problem:argh::bang:

I don’t know the problem but I was always told not to mess with the ABS system… I once wanted to remove it but couple persons told me not to… So I simply removed the fuse in the dash to disable the whole ABS system…

It could be something to do with the brake booster (vacuum lines?)… we’re having similar problems on our grain truck lol :slight_smile:

It sounds like you have the check valve on backwards. See 5 and 6 vacuum lines on the diagram below. If your check valve looks like the diagram, it’s on backwards.
