I have a 90 rs it keeps dying at random times. i have already replaced the distributer, plugs, wires, iac, vc gasket. The car still dies and feels super weak in acceleration. I have been told to change the main relay and check my ecu because it is still obd0. if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
I would definitely try the ECU. But also, unfortunately, a lot of the distributors available right now are absolute trash. I went through 2 or 3 before finding one that worked okay.
Is it automatic or manual?
It is a manual I have a p28 ecu for a obd1 swap I’m just trying to find a place that will put in hondata nowadays
You wrote that you were told to do the main relay. Have you tried that yet?
it came in today. I am going to put it in tomorrow.
BTW I just remembered that this could also be an ignition switch issue. But hopefully the fuel relay is the culprit!
I fought something like this for over a year. (20 years ago now)
The answer ended up being my fuel filter.
I replaced the main relay and the car hasn’t died yet. thank y’all for the help and keeping these on the road still @LabOps @NFULFX @Kip-ft
Awesome news!
Great to hear. Post some pics of your ride!
Check you out rocking those GTS covers!
not going to lie I have no idea what those are. I got the car thinking it was a Honda accord and as something better on gas that’s manual for school. turn out a lot of people like the car and its something pretty cool so if there is anything y’all see that’s different please let me know.
If you post more detailed pix inside, outside, and engine, we’ll be happy to tell you what you have.
On second look, I think what you actually have are the black housing aftermarket headlights. Have you noticed whether the light output onto the road at night is poor?
I’ve actually have been told there pretty bright but that’s probably just the bulbs in them. they are white when they are on and have yellow running lights on the inside when I turn them off. I will post some pics of it thank yall.
Hm what are those red wires on your throttle body?
Is your battery relocated to the trunk?
Do you need a steering wheel center cap? I was thinking about modeling those.
Looks like the Throtle position sensor is rewired. MFR for sure will kill a car mid drive.
