A couple of weeks ago my friend bought a 1st gen b16 head that he is planning on using for an lsvtec buildup. Yesterday he bought another b16 longblock because he was able to pick it up for just $450. Anyways, when looking at the heads, one says pr3-1 and one says pr3-3. Do any of you guys know what the difference is?
1st gen b16’s had 160hp and later versions had 170hp because of more agressive cams. I don’t know which later versions though because the 2000 civic SI is only rated at 160hp so…
BTW, there’s a hybrid forum that deals with engines that don’t come in a g2 and this thread will probably be going there pretty soon.
OOO I think I know. One was from an automatic car and the other was from a standard. I believe the auto b16’s have the very least aggressive vtec cams made. Am I right??

That could be. Maybe one was from a crx and the other from an integra??? I really have no idea, does anybody know for sure?

PR3-1,3-2,3-3,3-4 no difference in casting from what I’ve seen.
