Difference with 4dr and 2dr handles

I was just curious as to why would you switch from 2dr handles to 4dr handles? Is there a difference between them?

go look at any 2dr and then 4dr and its quite obvious. people aren’t using the front door handle from a 4dr, people are using the REAR 4dr handle which lacks the keywhole.

Ah… I apologize I wasnt aware that it was the rear i thought it was the front that is why I would wonder.

Yea its just so that you can have keyless door handles. I wanted to do this when I painted my car, but I couldnt find the handles anywhere. I finally found a pair a couple months ago (just happened to be 8 db1s at pick-a-part last time I was down there), but I decided against it and now just have a set sitting around.

^ haha… yea same here… I bought a set, was going to put them on my DB1 (front doors).

Alarm begins acting up so i decided to sell my handles… got a buyer just waiting to pick them up.

Yea I have no use for them, I could probibly get a couple more sets if those db1s are still there next time I go out.

Are the entire front doors from a 4 door exactly the same as a 2 door?

I tried putting a 4-door rear handle on my passenger side, and was going to do both sides until I found that the door latch wasn’t working very well.
Now it seems that the actual latch mechanism is like not locking and unlocking all the way. usually it takes two or more tries to unlock the door all the way. It’s like the first couple times it doesn’t get a solid unlock.
I’ve tried pushing and pulling hard on the actual push-rods that engage the latch but it acts the same, like it’s the actual latch that’s damaged.

Does anyone know of this happening during a 4-door rear handle mod install? Is it fixable or do I have to replace the latch? Also I’d be curious if anyone could tell me if the latch for an integra with power door locks would be compatible as a replacement? My car has manual locks with after-market actuators right now.
