Dont have coiliver money, so springs and shocks it is.
Question is:
Are there any negatives to mix matching springs? I dont want any reverse rake which is basically why Im thinking of doing this.
You may get a rake depending on the springs (either front higher, or rear higher). Never mix and match side-to-side (left and right). You can, however mix and match front and rear, but there is no way to predict the ride height (stance/rake) or performance by doing so. It’s pretty much a gamble if you decide to mix and match…
IMO: You should save up some money and get a proper set of springs and shocks for your vehicle application (or DC2 at the very least), instead of mix and matching. That way you’ll at least have an idea of what to expect from your suspension upgrade. You may end up regretting your decision, and spend more money later. Keep in mind you should not cheap out on the shocks. The shocks affect the ride and handling of the car more so than your springs.
P.S. If you go with hybrid suspension (DC, EG, EF, etc.) suspension, make sure its ride height adjustable or you WILL have an uneven drop. see this thread: http://forums.g2ic.com/showthread.php?30796-The-ever-elusive-Hybrid-DA-suspension-Article
I was thinking more along the lines of using skunk2 front springs and H&R rear springs… I belive the guesstimated drop on those are 2.5" (skunk2) and 2.0" (H&R). i figured with a half inch difference, that might solve the reverse rake issue. BUt as you said there is no way to predict the ride height.
