i went to the track last night and my best i could get was a 15.13 @ 93.25 and i had a shitty 60foot of 2.5. now, when i bought the car i was told it had CTR cams and CTR pistons…the visible mods i have are intake and exhaust. it seems to me that my numbers would be much better if i actually HAD these mods. if u have any idea as to what may be my problem and to shed any light on your opinion on my actually having these mods, i would be thankful. thanks guys.
was that time on street tires??
yes
was this your first time at the track???
how many times have you been???
How is your maintenence schedule
- When was the last oil and filter change???
- How old are the spark plugs and wires???
- How old is the fuel filter???
what did you rev to???
what kind of rims and tires???
give us a little more in depth info and we should be able to give you some help
-first time to the track in THIS car…much different might i add.
-dunno bout the plugs and wires, but i’m changing them soon.
-fuel filter same, ionno, but i dont’ think that’s a problem at all.
-revved to about 3.5 4k and dumped i know that’s my first mistake. but that’s what i did in my old GS.
-tires i’m on 15’ rota grids w/ 205/50/15 es100’s…pretty sure my problem is in my launch…i’ll work that out next time after i change the oil and add the DC ITR header.
yeah, about the maintenance stuff, i changed my:
-fuel filter
-spark plugs
-spark plug wires
-oil and filter
put some smaller rims and tires on the car (17s to 14s in the fron 13s in the back)
and on my second time to the track i dropped .648 on my ET
what did you shift at???
and that 2.5 should be lower. my 15.522 was 2.321
good stuff though
damn dude, a 15.13!! Ill trade you for my horrible 16.2
i had a 16.2, i was rearended…try that but yea i know the 2.5 shoudl be better, i had a 2.2 in my old gs…i launched at like 4g and was revving to about 8.2g…so i’ll try again next time and definitely get the times better.
i ran close to that in my gs but had 2.0 60fts so with a good launch you would be mid 14’s easy
bring down those 60’s youll be fine
