discolored fog light

ok guys, when i bought my one pieces from password jdm one came really dingy and one came clean, thats watever u kno? i can clean it, but when i put my foglights on, one of the bulbs (passenger, which is the dingy one) is really discolored, like the driver side one, is fine, but the headlight thats dingy, the foglight comes on and is really discolored, can this be caused by the dingy headlight?..or is it a bulb problem? nebody have this problem? in the picture, its the left one (passenger) not sure if u can see the discoloration, but thats the best pic i can get right now

cmon, no one knows?

You need to do a search for redoing one pieces, You need to wet sand them and reclear coat them… then buff etc etc.

that wasnt my question, my question was, can the discoloring of the headlight really have an impact of the actual color of the foglight?

i would imagine that it would… you could always just change the bulb and see…

To answer that question then yes it can because, foglights/ headlights fade and get foggy in various shades and color depending on your area’s weather and the lack of cleaning the your lights may have had in their lifetime.

Sometimes fading is just hazy, sometimes has a green/ yellow haze, sometimes a gray/ brown haze. This is your issue and ALL of them CAN be fixed.

most likely, the fog light cover has been oxidated and rusted. if you pull your one pieces apart, pull out the yellow fog light cover and scrub it clean. or buy new covers for them. When i bought mines there at password, the fog light cover had white residue all over one and i scrubbed it clean. i never tested the light before i cleaned it but im pretty positive that it’ll solve your problem. GL

u think i can swish some super clean in there? bc im not sure if i can take apart my headlights, i dont want to mess them up

My 1-pieces had scummy rusty covers on both sides. I did a replacement in 5 minutes, here’s how to do it:

Have your one-piece in hand (removed from the car) Take out your fog bulb, grab a straight blade screwdriver and slowly pry the collar that the yellow cover and your bulb mounts into out. It has 3 tabs on the inside which will bend and release the collar( pry slow so they wont break) Replace your jdm yellow covers with legend yellow covers, The jdm covers are usually not able to be cleaned. Put the yellow cover/collar assembly back in place, put your screwdriver in the rectangular holes and bend the tabs in place.

aye good lookin schoolin u, man i took out the bulb today and stuff, and to find it that the yellow cover is not even on the tab, its just sitting there hella broke off the tab

When i pulled mine pair out one was covered in green and black crusty crap and the other one had black dots all over it. Someone told me that they often sit in uncovered piles at japanese junkyards where the rain nails them for years.

i had this same f#$!ing problem…F!@$ PASSWORDJDM. they make the outside look really clean but then when you test fit them they dont even work right. i had the same exact problem and i had to fix this. i had to remove my passenger light that i put on take a heat gun and break them open. clean all the BLACK DIRT and RUST off the projector then i put them back on and next thing i know one was faded yellow other that the other one. so next thing i kno im in anaheim driving around lookin for any old legend with the fogs in the middle i even went to a walmart parking lot. HAHAAHHAHA but yeah…i finaly ended up finding my yellow covers in a neighborhood…yes completion

uhh…wat did u do? steal some foglight covers?

my lights came like that i took it off from the car looked at it for 5 minutes said fuck it n put it back

i just bought news ones 2 weeks ago and they arrived from jdm clear… hmmmm wonder why you had discolored ones?? what did ya do?

from where? jdm clear? whats that? wat do u mean wat did i do? i opened up the box and they were discolored

Get the Legend fog light covers. Thats what I used to replace my discolored JDM ones.

you didnt do anything man ! just return them and order a new set

good luck

what about if its the chrome reflector piece thats rusted and discolored?
