Distributor going bad?

Hey guys need your help… what are the signs of the distributor going bad? If its going bad can i just change some of its parts or the whole thing? how much will it cost me. thanks

If you have a 90-91 teg with a white plug distributor, I have one. I had it rebuilt and then my engine dropped compression 500 miles later. I swapped in a B16A so I just have it sitting around. I’ll sell it for $75 plus shipping.

hey thanks for the offer my car 90LS i dunno yet if i have to change it dunno if its going bad ill just post here it if i need one. thanks

anybody knows the signs? anybody??? :frowning:

the scary thing is, our tegs are notorious for the coils going out with out ANY signs sometimes. there was even a recall on them at one point (there still may be).

I almost got screwed… I was down in Portland @ Dan’s garage getting some work done on my teg, and we were all finished, had the hood open, looking @ it run perfectly smoothly then … all of the sudden it just shut down. the coil went. luckily he had a spare.
