So when i was looking around no one had pictures so i decided to make my own DIY this is my first DIY so sorry if its awful but atleast it has pictures…
so first off go to your local hardware store i went to homedepot and pick up a 7/8th of an inch plug mine was 58 cents with tax.
here’s mine after i primed it
here’s what im going to use to paint it it was about 8 bucks at kragens
now begin using flathead screw driver or pliers and turn the little notches left until it unscrews starts like this
ends like this
once your have that removed take off the panel like so
once you get that panel off you’ll see the motor and unscrew the two screws that are circled
once you do that motor will be out and here it is next to my almost fully painted plug
after you paint it (unless you dont want too) i used some RTV sealant so you dont get any water in there
here are some pictures of it done

hope it helped all your people that don’t have the haynes book.
any questions just ask?
nylon if i remember correctly it was between that and a straight up wedge lol so i picked that i would’ve liked rubber more but hey for 58 cents which my gf paid i cant complain XD
hope my DIY is better than the pictureless ones.
can someone show me how to do the smiley that says thread is useless without pictures?
Nice write up. I have to say the pics do make the post. Did you apply the sealant to the plug or under the panel once the plug was inserted and did you have to clean excess sealant off the outside?
awasome diy man cant even see the plug in the last picture i was wondering how to delete that hole without body filler awesome definetly gonna do this.
thanks guys, well i didn’t put any sealant on the inside i probably should but i just did it on the top and cleaned it off i should have also used clear coat on the plug but its w.e haha
Nice write up, I did the same thing about 2 weeks ago but didn’t paint the “plug” I used a rubber one that I believe came off a door or engine bay (will post pics later) I did it this way because I wanted the option of replacing the antenna when I found a working one.
what did you do for an antenna? I was thinking of using one of the stealth type but haven’t researched the one I want
i was thinking about getting that one that you put on your windshield just to leave the option of turning on the radio (I don’t usually use the radio) but right now i believe i have a i have a spun bearing so once i swap maybe ill get that type of antenna, if i do that ill do another thread
when i went the guy took me to i believe what was the plumbing section and he showed me these plugs but they did not have the plugs i was looking for so i just went down the plumbing isle and just look at all the little drawers my girlfriend was the one who found it it was just like with random miscellaneous parts good luck
Yea I also went down the plumbing section but didn’t found anything. Thanks for the info, I will look again. Dang your gf is lucky for finding them haha.
no my tegs dead=[ i want to bring her back to life but so far no luck finding a motor in my price range… might get another teg and use that and than save up and try to swap in another motor and live happily ever after with 2 tegs
