i have a 92 integra, non v-tec and have my b20/vtec in place. can i run the stock non-vtec computer and run my vtec solenoid, secondary intake solenoid, oil pressure, knock sensor, and ground like im supposed to and it work?
???
anybody know? even a lil helpful nudge? what computer will i need for my b20/vtec?
your best bet is to search. you can use a chipped p28, p72, or p73, or a chipped and vtec converted p06, pr4, or p75.
you can “ghetto” rig it somehow…my buddy did it with a msd rpm devise(set it to rpm to get power like shift light)…i dont know all about it but befor that he had it ran to a swith and could flip t on like nitrous…and by the way was on a stock ls ecu
facepalm
Your motor is not stock… Why are you thinking of running a stock computer? Especially a non-vtec stock ecu. At the very least you need to get a vtec ecu (Or a non-vtec ecu that has been chipped and converted) and have a basemap made by a reputable place (Xenocron, Phearable, etc)
You should be getting it tuned and dyno’d by someone to make sure that it is running correctly.
As I said, your motor isnt stock, I have no idea why you’d try to run a stock computer on any motor that isnt stock. Makes no sense dude.
lol, sorry sorry
you are correct, it is not stock, but i was more or less meaning will it work at all. i know i need to chip it, dyno it and what not, but temporarily i need something to make it work. i have to drive to the dyno. thanks for the info everyone else. i have never thought about an rpm switch…hmmm…
It will start up, yes… But I am willing to bet it will throw a CEL for something or other. Why not have the people at the dyno shop chip and base-map the ecu, before you drive it there? That would be your best bet.
Sorry if I came off like a dick in my last post, its just irritating that in this day and age that people still think that stock ecus or ‘Spoon’ eBay chips are the way to go on our cars. If its built, even with just a set of cams, it should be tuned for such. Not left stock.
Good luck with your dyno numbers though… be sure to post back your results
that is not a bad idea. can they do that? a dyno shop can “tune” and create a basemap without even having the car there? im not sure they do here where im from…bfn. and no prob, i know exactly what you mean.
