Do not buy from eClutchmasters

I bought one of their so called “performance” clutches and had installed in january '05 and now here it is january '06 and it is completely shot. Make a long story short, after 6 monthes it started slipping bad. I called eClutchmaster to raise hell and told them their clutch sucks. He says it comes with a 3000 mile or 3 months warranty and claims it’s not a crappyclutch. What kind of a good clutch comes with a crappy warranty like that. I am very upset and my car is barley driveable so I figured Ill try and spare all my fellow teggers the trouble. DO NOT BUY FROM eClutchmaster.com!!! :gunright:

OK, you obviously need to rephrase that. You had a clutch that lasted a year, then started slipping. Why was it slipping? How do you drive your car? I’ve got a generic clutch of theirs on my 90 teg, and it has been in there for two years now. The car shifts fine and grabs well. I don’t do burnouts or drag launch from every streetlight. While I would complain if you drove normally, I have a feeling you don’t.

As to calling them to tell them “they suck”, I think you need to realize you did just buy a generic performance clutch for what a normal clutch costs elsewhere, and did it on Ebay. You want something that will last through a LOT of abuse, buy a competition clutch, not a generic Ebay.

yea what he said ^

I bought one from them a while back cause it was a cheap and easy to get replacement for the factory clutch which was completely DONE!
After the clutch was installed I drove it 500 miles to break it in… took it to the track and made ONE pass, never really drove it hard only cause I could not afford to fix something if it broke. But even still… it started slipping after about a year and a half going from 1st to 2nd gear trying to accellerate onto a highway. I was slightly pissed but, I guess that is what I get for buying a generic racing clutch. He is right though… might as well splurge the cash to get a competition clutch. they will hold up a lil better

Anyone ever buy one of those on clutches on ebay for about $260 that comes with a 8lb flywheel and stage 2 clutch? comes with bearing and other stuff. It says it’s from japan or something.

Just wondering if it is worth my money.

Clutch is garbage bottom line.

I rarley do burnouts either and i am sure that i am not burning my clutch. I learned how to drive standard on the clutch before this one and even then it lasted longer than this one did. I have no clue what kind of clutch was in there but when i bought the car it was already slipping. I learned on that clutch and bought this cheap one from eclutchmaster because i was a little tight on money at the time. I do understand though that you get what you pay for and i only paid 120 for the clutch. My mechanic had told me that it was a cheaply made clutch and the fingers on the clutch over time warp because these cheap clutches can’t handle the heat. I do race and rev hard so its not that i don’t drive right i think its just that i should have bought a performance clutch to compensate for what i use my teggy for.

Oh and one more thing: When i called eClutchmasters to find out about the warranty he asked me what kind of car i have, all i told him was that i had an acura integra. He tells me that my car is a piece of shit and thats why. and that is when i started getting mad and flippin on the guy. the type of car you put the clutch in makes no difference in how long it will last. Stay away from eClutchmasters at least their so-called performance clutches. No good clutch comes with a 3000 mile or 3 month warranty.

was this a stock replacement or a stronger one ? like 250lbs grips or something …
